Whether you have chatted with them before, if you blocked them

Note which column the risk is in. Almost everything a stranger can learn about you is something you showed or said, not something the platform handed over.

The Two Kinds of Anonymous

Anonymous to other users

This is what Omigirl provides. The person on the other side gets a first name and a live video feed. No surname, no contact details, no other accounts, no history. When the chat ends, they have no way to reach you again unless you gave them one.

Anonymous to the platform

This is what Omigirl does not provide, deliberately. An account is required. Without one, blocking someone would be meaningless — they would return under no identity at all — and no report could lead to anything. The account is the thing that makes the safety controls real.

What Your Own Camera Gives Away

The part people underestimate. A camera pointed at your desk shows more than your face: an addressed envelope, a school or company logo, a distinctive view through the window, a parcel with your name on it. None of that is the platform's doing, and all of it is fixable in about five seconds by turning around or moving the light.

The same applies to what you say. Nobody asks a stranger for their address outright — they ask which city, then which area, then where you work, and each answer sounds harmless on its own. The full list of what not to share is short and worth two minutes.

Is Omigirl anonymous?

Anonymous to the people you meet, yes: they get a first name and whatever is on camera, and nothing else. Not anonymous to the platform — an account is required, because without accounts a block cannot stick and a rule cannot be enforced.

Can someone find out who I am from a video chat?

Not from the platform. The realistic risk is what you say and what is behind you: a company shirt, a landmark through the window, a first name plus a city plus a workplace. Three harmless-sounding answers can add up to an address.

Can chats be recorded?

Not by Omigirl. But anybody on any video platform can point a second phone at their screen, and no site can prevent that. Treat a video chat the way you would treat a video call with a colleague: assume it could be seen, and behave accordingly.

Is my conversation history public?

Your calls are not published. There is no browsable history of them and nothing you say in one is posted anywhere on the site.

Why do I need an account if it is anonymous?

Because blocking and reporting need something to attach to. Omegle required no account, and that is precisely why nobody could be removed from it. The account is what makes your block permanent.

Can I use it without showing my face?

It is a video platform, so a conversation without video is not really the product. If you would rather stay off camera entirely, a text-based service is the better fit — that is an honest answer rather than a sales one.
