Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Here is what Omigirl uses them for, in three categories.
Required
These cannot be switched off without breaking the service, because they are what the service is made of.
- Keeping you signed in between pages and between visits
- Remembering your match preference and other settings
- Security: detecting duplicate sessions and abusive automated traffic
- Remembering that you have already answered this notice
Analytics
Aggregated measurement of how the site is used — which pages people land on, where they leave, whether a change made things better or worse. It tells us about traffic, not about you individually, and it is optional.
Third Party
Our payment provider sets its own cookies during a purchase, for fraud prevention. Those are governed by that provider's policy rather than this one. We do not run third-party advertising cookies.
How to Control Them
Every browser can block or delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking the required ones will sign you out and stop the service working; blocking analytics will not affect anything you can see.
